There is a lot of dollars spent on marketing Women's wetsuits! A lot! Brand struggle to differentiate their suits from all the others. This means they resort to telling some pretty white lies about neoprene. Here are my favourite:

1.♻️ "Eco-Friendly" Neoprene? Not So Fast!

Sure, Yulex and other eco-neoprene sound great, but here’s the catch: mass production creates so much waste and emissions that it cancels out any of the eco-benefits. The real solution? Stop mass-producing, and only make what we need!

2.🏴Neoprene Isn’t the Star of the Show

What makes a superstretchy neoprene stretchy? It’s actually the nylon or polyester fabric covering. If the material used to cover the neoprene isn't flexible, it won't matter how stretchy(or high quality) the rubber is. 4-way stretch fabrics have the most snug, comfy fit that I have tried. Caveat: each brand has is own language for 4 way stretch fabric so its a little hard to decipher.

3.🧊 That Fluffy Liner? It’s Not Actually Keeping You Warm.

Those soft liners brands boast about? They’re mostly for show. Studies have shown that for real warmth, you want smooth-skin neoprene—it sticks to your skin better, meaning less cold water sloshing around inside. The downside? It’s fragile and can be tricky to put on(thats why we don't currently use it)

I hope this helps when you are looking for your next wetsuit! Happy diving 💗🤿
